Important Information

To ensure the Wales Young Carers Festival is a safe, enjoyable, and well-organised experience for everyone, all activities and facilities are carefully planned across the three days. Daytime activities run on Tuesday afternoon and throughout Wednesday, with a full programme of workshops, creative sessions, and experiences designed to keep young carers engaged and inspired. All meals and refreshments are provided throughout the festival, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily in Hafod a Hendre. In addition, a snack van is available during the afternoons, and each evening young carers can enjoy freshly made pizza from the on-site wood-fired oven. Everything is included, ensuring a completely cash-free experience where attendees can relax and focus on enjoying their time.

The wellbeing of every young person is at the heart of the festival. First aid support is available on-site, and there are dedicated spaces such as the chillout tent for those who may need a quiet moment or someone to talk to. Trained staff, volunteers, and peer mentors are always present and available to offer support, guidance, and reassurance throughout the event. Designated smoking and vaping areas are in place for those aged 18 and over, and all attendees are expected to follow festival guidelines to help keep everyone safe.

Before You Arrive

Before arriving at the Wales Young Carers Festival, you will receive all the key information needed to help you prepare, including arrival times, what to bring, and important guidance for the event.
