Empowering Young Carers
to Flourish in Life

At the Wales Young Carers Festival, we celebrate and empower young carers to flourish in all aspects of life. Through a mix of fun, friendship, and meaningful support, the festival offers a space where young carers can take a break, build confidence, and be inspired to achieve their goals.

Creative Workshops

From graffiti and face painting to ring making and crafts, our workshops give young carers the chance to get creative, learn new skills, and express themselves freely.

Fun Activities

The festival is packed with exciting activities including inflatables, silent discos, pallet city, karaoke, and more – all designed to help young carers unwind and have fun.

Building Friendships

Young carers connect with others from across Wales, building friendships with those who understand their journey, helping them feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Time to Recharge

With space to relax and be themselves, the festival gives young carers a rare and valuable break from their caring roles, supporting their mental and emotional wellbeing.

Youth Voice & Choice

We ensure young carers are heard through peer mentor roles, feedback sessions, and involvement in shaping the festival – putting their voices at the heart of everything.

About Us

Wales Young Carers Festival is a totally free event thanks to funding from Welsh Government who recognise the amazing work of our young carers in Wales.

Held at the Builth Wells Showground every August, it is a 3 day / 2 night event with camping and all activities, entertainment, food and drink provided making it a cash-free zone.

The purpose of the festival is to give young carers a much needed and deserved break from their caring role, the chance to have fun, relax and make new friends.
