Celebrating and Supporting Young Carers Across Wales

The Wales Young Carers Festival is a powerful celebration of the incredible dedication shown by young carers across Wales. Made possible through generous support from the Welsh Government, the festival is completely free to attend—ensuring every young carer has the opportunity to take part, feel recognised, and enjoy a well-deserved break.

Held each August at the Builth Wells Showground, the festival offers a three-day experience filled with energy, connection, and unforgettable moments. From exciting activities and live entertainment to wellbeing support and shared experiences, every part of the festival is designed with young carers in mind.

As a fully cash-free event, everything is provided—from camping and accommodation to food, activities, and entertainment. This allows young carers to relax, have fun, and fully enjoy the experience without any financial barriers.

Creating Space to Relax, Connect and Just Be Kids

At the heart of the Wales Young Carers Festival is a simple but powerful purpose—to give young carers the chance to step away from their responsibilities and enjoy time that is truly their own. It’s a space where they can relax, have fun, and connect with others who understand their experiences.

Throughout the day, the festival is filled with a wide range of creative and exciting activities. From hands-on workshops like jewellery making, graffiti art, circus skills, and music production, to high-energy inflatables and games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and get involved in.

As the day turns into evening, the festival comes alive with entertainment. Young carers can experience outdoor cinema, karaoke, bingo, silent discos, and live DJ sets that keep the energy going. With lights, music, and an electric atmosphere, the evenings create unforgettable moments shared with new friends.
